An expert in participatory visual methods, Bettina Kolb has used the photo interview method in numerous social science research projects that share knowledge across disciplines. Bettina is lecturer on the Institute for Sociology and member of the visual Visual Studies in the Social Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Vienna.

With Oikodrom – the Vienna Institute for Urban Sustainability, Bettina has put the photo interview method into practice in China, Vietnam, Mexico, Egypt, Morocco, Turkey and Syria. Her research interests include health and sustainability within the contexts of poverty and heritage protection, and transdisciplinary communication, with a focus on balance and space in a development context.
