Our trainings feature a unique blend of content and hands-on, interactive components. We enable attendees to engage in the photovoice experience by stepping into the shoes of photovoice participants. Trainees are welcome to initiate discussion pertaining to personal projects as time allows.

Talking with Pictures: Photovoice
This online professional development course provides content, resources, and practice to adapt photovoice to your research, teaching, and program needs. (Meets for five, 2-hour sessions.)
Photovoice Facilitation 101: The Basics
Upon completion of this course, you will have the skills and tools to work collaboratively with your photovoice participants to generate data and reach project goals. (Meets for three, 2-hour sessions.)
Practical Facilitation: Arts-Based Methods for Creative Engagement
Learn new approaches and techniques to successfully facilitate participatory photo-taking and arts-based activities with diverse individuals and groups. (Meets for three, 2-hour sessions.)
Photovoice Method Summer School
This intensive 2-week training provides the instruction, tools, and resources necessary to successfully plan, organize and conduct a project safely and ethically. (Meets for nine, 2/2.5-hour sessions.)
Our workshops:
Anticolonial Photovoice
In this workshop series, participants will collaboratively examine their own photovoice projects, the photovoice literature, and examples from the facilitator’s research to learn how to introduce an anticolonial approach into their work. (Three sessions, 8 hours total.) Sign up for one, two, or all three sessions.
Key Themes in Photovoice Research
In this series of innovative and practical online workshops, Dr. Nicole Brown introduces three key themes in photovoice research: data collection, data analysis, and reflexivity. (Meets for three, 2-hour sessions.) Sign up for one, two, or all three sessions.
